Philip Hawkey

Is an Associate of Trinity College London (ATCL) in piano performance. He has twenty years experience in leading vocal groups, including a term as The Salvation Army’s national choir master. He developed this choir to a particularly high standard and took it on tour, not only around New Zealand, but to the United Kingdom and USA.

Philip is a member of Wellington jazz combo Casablanca. He also leads the ‘Soul Praise’ gospel choir and a children’s choir in Tawa. Those who have learned or performed under Philip’s tutelage would attest to his ability to find the best in people and develop a passion for performing music, whatever their skill level.

At Aspire Philip leads the Aspire Academy Band.
