Aspire's Bands |
Want to join a band? Aspire has 4 options 1. Aspire Big Band Aspire's flagship band, the Aspire Big Band contains strong musicians who have a lot of fun performing at events such as Swing dances, jazz festivals, cabaret shows and charity events.
2. Aspire Academy Band You don't have to be a virtuoso to play in a big band. You can still have fun and develop your skills if they are at an intermediate level. The Aspire Academy Band provides an opportunity to play in a band socially and perform at community events.
3. Aspire Covers Band Would you rather play rock and pop music in a smaller more modern band than Aspire's two big bands. New in 2011 Aspire is offering a Covers Band option. We don't know its exact format yet; that's up to you, but it is filling up fast.
This is the self-service option, where you can play the music you want to play. The above three bands are led by Aspire staff. You can also organise your own combo at Aspire, and we can help with venue, equipment and advice. Aspire even has plenty of other musicians to form a band with, whether it be for fun or to develop your skills.

Aspire Big Band, Academy Band and Covers Band all rehearse on Mondays from 7:30-9:00pm. Combos rehearse earlier on the same night, from 6:30-7:25. So you can be in a combo and another band. To enquire about combos, give us a call or email. Alternatively, just join one of the other bands and form a combo during the year from other musicians in the band who want to do something extra.
